AUTOINTOXICATION

Updated: Jun 5, 2024

Improper bowel conditions and functions will lead to intestinal toxaemia. Intestinal toxaemia is caused by imbalances such as an unhealthy lifestyle, deficient diet, dehydration, physical and emotional stress, emotions such as anger, bitterness, overeating, lack of exercise, and ignoring the call to nature.

When the colon is congested with stagnant waste poisons begin to back up into our body systems and pollute our inner terrain. This is called autointoxication which literally means "self-poisoning."

All of the body's tissues are affected by autointoxication. If the poisons back up into the nervous system, we feel irritable and depressed. We feel weak if they back up into the heart, bloated if they reach the stomach and our breath becomes foul smelling if the toxins reach our lungs.

Below are some of the symptoms we experience with autointoxication:

Headaches

Back pain

Dementia

Depression

Forgetfulness

Drowsiness

A burning sensation in the face, feet, hands and eyes.

Tics - repetitious sudden involuntary movements.

Lack of ability to concentrate

Indecision

Bloating

Fatigue

Dermatological conditions

Abdominal pain

Dry eyes

Tearing eyes

Vision disturbance

Sinus problems

Indigestion

Nausea

Haemorrhoidal pain

Bad breath

Body odour

Foot odour

Prolapsed abdominal organs

Constipation

Sensitivity to noise

Insomnia

Arthritis

Flatulence

Hypertension

Boils

Acne

Bladder infestions

Kidney disorders

Itching

Delirium

Degeneration of organs

Clammy skin

Muscle Inflammation

It's important to note that the above are just some of the symptoms associated with intestinal toxaemia. To cleanse and purify the digestive system and practise better bowel care is the first and most important of the basic groundwork principles for achieving vibrant health.

Implementing therapeutic modalities such as juice cleansing, following vegetarian, and vegan food programs, cleansing and detoxifying, hydrotherapy, bodywork, exercise and movement, taking healing herbs and concentrated whole-food supplements will help to reverse and eliminate autointoxication. As always speak with your healthcare practitioner before embarking upon any lifestyle changes.
